I was a bit confused last evening by the Judge‘s comments regarding Adrian’s images where the sky had been replaced. Cards on table, I don’t like the practice - for me, it is too much a departure and blurs the lines between digital art and photography. However, nothing wrong with that, as I understand it, with the current competition rules. So why then, were the images dismissed? So what if the sky had been replaced? I don’t think anyone would say that the images weren’t compelling and excellent. I am therefore not sure what the judge‘s rationale was for dismissing them. Personal, subjective opinion? Is that acceptable?
